Fairway Hotel

After days on the road and in the forest, the Fairway Hotel & Spa is a peaceful place to land in Kampala. It sits on Kafu Road in a leafy part of the city, directly opposite the Uganda Golf Course, a short drive from the city centre, the craft markets and the restaurants of Kololo and Nakasero.

Why we use it

• Location: central but quiet, with easy access to Kampala’s sights and the road to Entebbe.
• Space to relax: gardens, an outdoor pool and a spa make it ideal for the night after a long drive from the national parks.
• Comfort: air-conditioned rooms with balconies overlooking the gardens, and a choice of restaurants serving international and Asian dishes.

We use the Fairway Hotel on our 8-day gorilla, wildlife and primates safari for the final night in Kampala, after the Buganda heritage tour and before the transfer to Entebbe. It also works well before a Kampala city tour or the Jinja Source of the Nile day trip.

Rooms and facilities

The hotel has around 100 rooms, each with air conditioning, a safe, a flat-screen TV and a balcony over the gardens. Facilities include an outdoor pool and children’s pool, a spa with a steam room, a fitness area, Wi-Fi, a café and meeting rooms, plus several restaurants. Room service is available around the clock.

Getting there

The hotel is about an hour from Entebbe International Airport, depending on traffic, using the Entebbe Expressway. Your driver-guide collects you from the airport or drops you at the hotel at the end of your safari.
