Wildlife 7 days7-Day Murchison Falls and Kidepo Valley Safari
Two of Uganda’s greatest wildernesses in one journey: the thundering Nile at Murchison Falls, then the wide, wild plains of Kidepo Valley in the far north-east.

A historic lodge on the eastern bank of the Albert Nile inside Murchison Falls National Park, with elevated rooms, balconies and a large pool.
Pakuba Safari Lodge is on the eastern bank of the Albert Nile, inside Murchison Falls National Park, close to the north bank game-drive tracks. The original building dates from the 1970s, and the lodge has been rebuilt as a modern midrange lodge.
The lodge has double and twin rooms and family suites with interconnecting doors, raised on platforms with balconies, air-conditioning and en-suite bathrooms. Hippos, elephants and antelope are often seen from the verandas.
Families and travellers wanting value close to the game tracks.
Murchison Falls is about five to six hours by road from Kampala via Masindi, with the option of stopping to track rhinos at Ziwa. Scheduled flights from Entebbe land at Pakuba and Bugungu airstrips. Vehicles cross the Nile at Paraa to reach the north bank for game drives.
Murchison Falls is Uganda’s largest national park, divided by the Victoria Nile. At the falls, the whole river is forced through a gap about seven metres wide before plunging about 43 metres. The north bank has open savannah with Rothschild’s giraffes, elephants, buffalo and lions, while the launch trip upstream from Paraa passes hippos and huge crocodiles. Read game drives in Murchison Falls.
Two or three nights let you combine the launch trip, a morning game drive and the top of the falls. See our 3-day Murchison Falls safari and 3-day Murchison Falls and Ziwa rhino safari.
