Trekkers Tavern Cottages

Trekkers Tavern Cottages is a small, eco-friendly lodge in the Ruhija sector, about 2 km from the park headquarters. It is a good-value base for gorilla trekking and birding, with Albertine Rift birds often seen around the cottages.

The lodge has five self-contained cottages for single, double and family occupancy, with en-suite bathrooms, hot showers and flush toilets.

About the Ruhija sector

Ruhija lies in the east of Bwindi at about 2,300 metres, the highest of the four sectors, and it is cool and often misty. It is Bwindi’s top birding area, with the trail down to Mubwindi Swamp, home of the African green broadbill and other Albertine Rift endemics.
