About the Rwenzori Mountains
The Rwenzori, the legendary Mountains of the Moon, rise to 5,109 metres at Margherita Peak on the Uganda–Congo border. Treks pass through bamboo, heather forests and bogs with giant lobelias, and the central circuit starts near Nyakalengija. Read trekking the Rwenzori Mountains.
The driest months for trekking are December to February and June to August, though rain is possible at any time on these very wet mountains.
